I love sneakers

I never wear them, but I love them. I swear. They don't look good on me, but if they did... I would own these... and probably a million other ones like it.

Thank Geebus I don't have the money or legs to buy Nikes. (My friend R tells me that Vandals make your feet look weird when you wear them. Another reason to sleep easy at night.)

Skins Rant

Yesterday my good friend Catherine-Michelle and I had a mini- Series 4 marathon and all I can say is- WTF SKINS?! The promo had me so looking forward to it and I won't say that I was disappointed neccessarily but ummmm I'm kinda disappointed. I'll try not to reveal any spoilers but again with the lists I go. Also I promise my grammar isn't normally this bad but I like making up my own words sometimes.

Naomi: nononono awkward lengthish kinda curly hair is not cute. I liked your old lez haircut better
Emily: where did your bangs go?! Also your hair is getting borderline pink. Not cute either.
Whole female cast: did you guys fire the make up artist or something?
Freddie: you could lose some of that makeup, also don't think I missed that wrap cardigan you were wearing last ep. Were you running late for ballet?
Thomas: you're still awesome and I forgive you
Katie: I almost like you this season because you're "Katie fucking Fitch"
Effy: you irritate me to no end but what else is new
Cook: You're still one of my favorite characters even though everyone else hates you. Actually that's probably why I like you.
JJ: my other favorite character, looking forward to your episode mate

Hey remember when the show was fun and wacky and mischievous not just depressing and ... weird. Okay it was always weird, maybe I'm being too harsh. Still half the series to go and I'm staying optimisitic, couldn't you tell?

Oh the good old days. (Of Series 3 I mean, I don't compare the new and old casts

New York, New York

A week or so ago, jesus it feels like a lifetime ago now, Seika and I journeyed to the Big Apple for NY Fashion week to do a bit of reporting for Bare Magazine and Chictopia repectively. It's strange, even though I had an amazing time in New York no part of me wants to revisit my experience because there is just so much crap to sort through. Seriously it's all just one big blur of long taxi rides, subway stations, fashion shows, DELICIOUS food, snow, and sore feet. Something to know about me; I like lists. A list of a few things I've gathered from our short but very full trip to New York:

- Doc Martens are probably the best shoes ever

-Walk FAST

-Be prepared to spend more money than you had planned. (stupid taxi to the airport)

-Artichoke pizza is amazing

-Wear something bright/eccentric/asian/weird and you are guaranteed to get your picture taken

-Be prepared to feel short/fat/ugly: they let the models loose!

-Halal cart on 53rd and 6th is a little taste of heaven

-Don't waste money on a taxi, the subway can get you anywhere and probably faster

-Try not to get all caught up in the glitz and glam, keep good people around you and don't forget what really matters in life! (Barf but totes)

*I took almost no pictures on the trip so here are two I managed to snap outside the tents at Bryant Park

Seika eating a bagel omnomnomnom (SI: I look like Gollum, NK. Thx.)

Me looking like the gay boy I always wanted to be

Bau-haus of Gaga

fact: I have a 2,000 word paper due in a little less than seven hours.
fact: SINK really likes Lady Gaga.

While doing some reading for my paper last night, I came upon this untitled photograph by Erich Consemüller circa 1926. He was a student at Bauhaus.

Strange similarity to the masks used in the Lady Gaga Monster Ball tour video, right?

Now that I've wasted a good amount of time... time to write my paper. Yikes.

Because it really doesn't get more eloquent than this

NK (2:33:59 PM): my friend and i are working on our blog
x (2:34:08 PM): ooo what blug
NK (2:34:33 PM): we've been talking about starting a fashion/lifestyle/food/ranting/bitching
NK (2:34:36 PM): blog for a while now
x (2:34:49 PM): blog

And in case anyone out there is wondering (most likely not) SINK stands for our initials: SI and NK. It's probably the most clever thing you've ever heard of. We try.
