One Month

I moved to NYC exactly a month ago. Today, I go to orientation for work.

If I had to sum up all of what I'm learning into one simple sentence: I'm learning how to be alone.

I'm still working on it everyday, but basically, I had a lot of time to myself this month. I finished Harry Potter 5-7, visited museums, ate good food, walked around, shopped, watched movies, etc. I also spent this month looking/moving into my apartment and finding a part-time job. Getting hired had to be one of the high points of this month.

Orientation for school is in a week. Classes begin a week after.

So much is changing in my exterior and interior life. It's been bumpy, but I feel that I'm extremely fortunate for feeling like I'm in the right place at the right time. (Seldom have I felt like this and I know I'm lucky to feel it.)


I'm happy to be here. Note to self: take more pictures.

Tatouage

For the past few years I've toyed with the idea of getting a tattoo if and when I studied abroad in France. To be clear I haven't made any decisions as of yet and am the first to admit that I'm a pretty fickle person. It's really not the permanence that scares me it's the making a real decision, the follow through, that I find mildly terrifying. I don't neccessarily believe that a tattoo has to hold some incredibly significant meaning or be symbolic of some milestone blah blah blah. I just have to like it. And of course, there's the momma factor. I love my mommy. I dont want her to be mad at me!

 If I did get a tattoo it would probably be script. I love Freja's tattoo. I love that it's one word and yet it makes perfect sense. I doubt I could ever be so succinct. Í'd probably end up with an essay on my back.

I've been thinking about selling my Canon after I get back from France. Truth be told I never fell in love with it. I don't think we were meant to be. I'm currently stalking a Pentax K1000 on ebay. It's completely manual and after doing a ton of research found that it's a camera meant to last decades. Not looking forward to paying for film though...

Talking about Red

As if that red watch wasn't enough, I've suddenly become consumed with finding a red dress/outfit/shoes/etc. Having trouble finding things I actually like, but this dress from Topshop seems like a good red alternative for the summer. Can't wait to work...
