Bakesale Betty's

Bakesale Betty's is one of my favorite places to grab lunch on a Lazy Sunday. The lines can get pretty insane but luckily they seem to be pretty darn efficient in that kitchen because it moves along at a decent pace. It's one of those places that only does a few things but executes them extremely well. I am quite partial to their mayo-less cole slaw which comes with everything. I ordered a chicken salad (too lazy to deal with bread), while Kevin opted for their famous chicken sandwich. And to top it all off, the most scrumptous (love this word) strawberry shortcake ever!

If you've never been to Betty's don't look for any huge signs, the building is pretty non descript, just a small crowd of very happy people.

Worth the wait.

Love love love the fried chicken here. I don't know how to describe it but it tastes very clean to me. Is that weird? Although the chicken is fried it doesnt have the heaviness or general "friedness" of most fried chicken I've had.

I'm an Avatar!

I don't even know why I bother going to class. I just end up sitting there alternating between FB and twitter like my life depended on it. And yeah sometimes silent video chatting is neccessary. A lot of weird things going on with my face in this shot. I'm purple, my lips are RED, and my hand is white. I think Steven Spielberg needs to cast me in the sequel to Avatar. James left because my purple face was scaring him. :(

It's my birthday today! I'm finally 21 years old after what feels like an eternity and I feel... the same. Still it's been a great day and I feel so blessed to have so many amazing people in my life. I didn't want to do anything tonight since I'm planning on having a little karaoke night with my friends on Saturday; but a small dinner with Kevin was the perfect way to cap off the day. We went to Gather which is a fairly new restaurant that opened up on Oxford St. in Berkeley and holy shizz it is DERICIOUS.

I have to apologize for my horrific attempt at photographing food. I seriously think I am incapable of being a good blogger. In my defense it was my first time and it's kind of hard to concentrate when you have a hungry boyfriend giving you the stink eye for making him wait. Any who here goes a whole lot of nothin.

called the bee's sting. i have no idea what was in it but i got hints of honey, lemon, and ginger. i asked the waitress for something yummy and weak in terms of alcohol content. she followed through on the first but definitely not the second. i made Kevin finish it.

the house specialty! vegetarian chacuterie. i have absolutely no idea what the heck any of it was but it was all insanely delicious. Kev and i were both saying that if all vegetarian food was this good we would consider crossing over.. not

mussels in some heavenly broth with delicious crispies. yeah i'm an amazing food blogger i know. i think i'm going to have dreams about this dish. so ridiculously good.

Kevin's stink eye. i don't think he likes my camera very much. (this one's for Jordan who doesn't believe i actually have a bf, only a Japanese body pillow)
