I have a love/hate relationship with Alexander Wang. I get it. Everyone loves him. For a long time I fought it because I just didn't GET it. Maybe that makes me really slow. As of late I've realized I need to just get over it and accept that he's his own kind of awesome.
I really love Alberta Ferretti's new campaign because 1) the clothes are beautiful 2) the campaign has great pictures. The campaign isn't flashy or "fierce." (I hate using that word.) It's artful and sensitive, without being boring.

But I feel like I'm a bit partial when it comes to old/old-looking photographs. One of my favorite photographers is Julia Margaret Cameron. (Makes me a big wimp, I know.) I've always loved her portraits...
So I’ve been whining about this a lot lately and thought I would write a post on the matter since it really is just as fascinating as it sounds. For a while now, I’d say give or take 4 months, I’ve been on the hunt for a plain black maxi skirt. And by “on the hunt” I mean too poor to actually look for said skirt so mostly lots of griping about wanting one to people who really don’t care, i.e. Kevin. Then, Seika tells me that my simple maxi skirt does indeed exist and it can be mine for a mere $19.95 from my local H&M. So I did what anyone would do, I ignored her. It was probably on sale, yeah SURE, there won’t be any left in my size, yada yada. But she persists, no they’re still there, yes they’re that cheap, and yes it’s exactly what you’re looking for! So yesterday after work I walk over to H&M with high hopes that FINALLY the “hunt” is over. And of course it’s an epic fail. I think the sales girl could tell how much I wanted it because it seemed like she searched high and low for that thing before finally admitting defeat and telling me it was nowhere to be found.
Nancy sad. Nancy goes home empty handed. Nancy eats 90843208403 pounds of pasta. Nancy is unconscious.
It’s a new day today and I’m whining to my best friend Carolann about my predicament. Apparently I am just being silly and should just call “one of the four H&M’s around me” because they never run out of anything in SoCal. Carolann offers to pick up the skirt from anywhere. I put up a fight at first but it’s no use, she is the most awesomest friend and says she has nothing better to do anyway. I call a store right by her work and they have it! I ask them to hold a size 2 and 4 and tell Carolann to make a judgment call. The size 2 was just for kicks, she gets me the 4.
And that kids is how it’s done.
PS: You know I didn't want to, but I had to. I TOLD YOU SO xoxoxoxoxoxo SI

Joan: You want to be taken seriously? Stop dressing like a little girl.
Lately I've been having a lipstick moment. Carolann and I have already agreed to pillage the MAC store at South Coast when I come home. Currently looking for bright fuschia (just trust me), and a darker vampy color. In love with the lip color in this J Crew look book shot. issopurdy.

Saw this on Zana's blog and was amazed. Not by the fact that he tries on one of her harnesses (which is amazing) but wtf since when is Trey Songz hot? Am I the only person who never realized this? Too cute.

Sorry color, I'm over you again... it was fun while it lasted. Don't say I didn't try.
On the realsies though, I seriously need to find a maxi skirt so I can copy this look. Not even gonna front.
"I listen to 'Thank Me Now' on my walk to work everyday and pretend the people on the street are thanking me for my general awesomeness. But really it's just a really windy walk and that song makes it bearable."

Ps: You are messing with my all-white interior dreams, but we could have whatever you like. :)
In my seemingly never ending search for new fashion blogs (for work) I've come to realize that the majority of fashion bloggers out there, and I mean all fashion blogs not just the "famous" ones, are run by asian girls. I find this troubling. Maybe asian girls in general are more interested in fashion but I'm thinking it has more to do with vanity. Maybe I would have one too if I dressed better and wasn't the most horribly unphotogenic person I know (ask Jocelyn). Ehhhh.... nope probably still wouldn't. Not that anyone reads this thing but hey Seika, thoughts? lulz
I know you're a bit sad and worried about making the big (but c'mon inevitable) move to the big Apple. Yes you may feel a bit lost at times, yes you're going to miss your friends and family, and yes onigiri just will not taste the same without me. Just know that I'm always one bbm/skype/aim/facebook/SINK post away and I love you. And don't worry about being one of "those" girls, because I promise to tell you you're being annoying. WUV YOU!

Robbie Spencer is probably one of my favorite stylists and yes it's because he does menswear. He's very young (26!) but extremely talented and knows how to work my shit. I'm not saying he's the most diverse or well rounded stylist in the world but hey, he's got a point of view and it's one I really don't mind looking at.
I have a fear of becoming a "fashion girl" with all my "fashion friends" who go to "fashion parties." My activities would include wearing trendy outfits and talking about fashion pretentiously. I could probably make anything sound pretentious like art, food, movies, music, the 90s, the 80s, etc. :T
Simple request: Please gently push me in the right direction if I ever lose my way. Avoiding the dark side...

Obviously I will get no birthday presents, which really doesn't bother me that much, but here's a list of things I would be really happy to receive. More like my own reminder of things that I should save up for. Basically my eyelash curler sucks, I don't have a working iPod or headphones/earphones, and I spend too much money on magazines.
